Halloween Fun!

Koen wasn't real thrilled when he stuck his hand in the pumpkin and discovered how yucky it was...

He was even a little weary when I gave him a hammer to pound out the designs!

There was a Halloween parade and party at Koen's school on Friday. It was the first time he had his costume on-he was the cutest elephant ever!

I joined the party for a bit, then it was home to Trick-or-Treat!

Koen loved Trick-or-Treating!

We had a great time!

After Trick-or-Treating in our neighborhood, it was off to Nonnie and Pa's. There we met up with Ashlynn and Murray for some light-saber battles and more Trick-or-Treating.

New Tricks!

Well, I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks! We decided to embark upon a new sport-wake boarding! Craig was willing to give anything a try that would get me into the water! With only water skiers and knee boarders among us, we decided we wanted to try something new. Since there wasn't anyone who knew how, we depended upon the internet for our lessons. After a few failed attempts, both Craig and I were able to get the hang of it! (We won't talk about how sore the dog is...)

A Busy Vacation!

After such a busy week, Koen can't keep his eyes open any longer-even on a Sea Doo ride!

The puppies are pooped and cuddle together on the couch!

We're Swimming Now!

We have graduated from a splasher to a swimmer-here is one of Koen's first attempts.

Daddy and Koen take a break on the raft...

then it's back to the lake!

At the Binder Park Zoo

After returning to lake from home for yet another doctor's appointment mid-vacation, we took a trip to Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek. We had a great time hiking through nature and visiting the animals. Here we are on the train ride around the children's area of the zoo.

Mommy and Koen took a break on a Triceratops...

while Daddy and Koen rested with one of the more contemporary animals at the zoo.

When we got to the African Safari, we were greeted by some of the friendliest giraffes we've ever seen!

We eve
n got to feed them special giraffe treats!

Our Little Firecracker

We had a great July 4th holiday at the lake, complete with fireworks and lots of swimming. This is Koen doing his best impression of the fireworks.

While Koen napped on the boat, Daddy spent some with Ashlynn teaching her how to knee board. She looks like a pro!

At the Boat with Grandma and Grandpa

Koen and Mommy went to visit Grandma and Grandpa on the boat. We didn't get a lot of sailing in because the wind and water did not cooperate, but Koen was a big help with walking Maggie. When we did go out sailing, the wind was pretty gusty and the boat was difficult to control, but that did not bother Koen-he napped the whole time!

Out for a Float!

Koen spent a little quality time with cousin Ashlynn out on the boat.

Koen decided he was brave enough to take a spin out on the boat on his own.

Our Puppies

Sadie and Zoey have a great time with their freedom at the lake. They are exhausted after a full day of chasing each other, swimming, playing ball and of course taking off for many adventures!

Our little fish!

Koen has turned out to be quite the little fish. He has been having a great time splashing around the lake!
